Thursday – Part 4

Afrobloggers Winter Challenge

Bethal looked down at her sports bra. She had big boobs, she knew that. But she rarely showed as much cleavage as she was now.

The annual marathon was the biggest event on the Rotary Calendar. She had practiced for it, running 7 KM 3 times a week for 2 months and had bought an outfit online just for this day. Brand new Nike trainers, pink with purple detail on the side. A pair of Grey leggings, stretching over her toned legs. A Nike headband clearly visible with her braids tied up as a ponytail. And then this…. Sports bra.

“You look good, don’t worry.” Her friend Mutsawashe encouraged.

“You look smoking hot!” Vivian chimed in.

Now every woman in the changing room at Meryk Park Sports club was looking at her and she blushed crimson.

“I am not like you Vivian! I mean, look at those shorts! Sexy vixen isn’t my thing.”

“Well it should!” Vivian retorted. “Plus Brian is here. One look at that and he will be all over you at the after party.”

“Brian is here?” Bethal asked, feeling even more self conscious.

“He is. And his wife isn’t.” Vivian replied with a wink.

“Oh you are bad.” Bethal giggled.

“You the bad bitch!” Vivian said as she playfully slapped her.

“I don’t know you. Mutsa is my only friend here. C’mon Mutsa let’s take a selfie.”

As Bethal took a selfie with Mutsa, the contrast was so glaring. Here was Mutsawashe in a green golf t-shirt. A green and yellow full track bottom and some no nonsense black running shoes.

Standing side by side with Mutsawashe, Bethal felt naughty. When she took the selfie, her smile was one of gleeful mischief.

“We need a caption for this…” Bethal mused

“Don’t Rush Challenge in one frame!!” Roared Vivian.

“Wait, you want to post that… Online?”  The reluctance in Mutsawashe’s voice was clear.

“Of course sweety!!” Bethal purred.

Everyone knows about the halo effect. If you are an 8, standing next to a 6, you look like a 10!!

It’s not often Bethal posted pics with Mutsawashe in them. Vivian was usually her partner in crime. But, she felt daring, hot and seductive. She felt wild and alive. Mutsawashe standing next to her would accentuate this thrill. Bethal knew, it was a little mean, but it had to be done. For the gram.

“I got it. The caption. Hot Girl Summer!!” Bethal said with a glimmer in her eyes.

    1. Thank you so much for reading and the kind feedback.

Thursday is my first ever fiction story, so this is encouraging.
